Our didactics curriculum employs a myriad of learning styles including simulation, seminars, journal clubs and case studies to ensure our residents have a firm grasp on the basic science and clinical principles that govern Emergency Medicine.
Weekly Emergency Medicine Conferences
Protected resident learning time starts 7AM on Wednesday morning beginning with small groups by PGY year followed by a group session at 830 AM. Sample academic schedule is listed below.

Simulation Center - Central Michigan University
State of the art, multi-million dollar simulation center which employs the use of standardized patients and actors, partial task trainers, full-patient mannequins.
Junior residents take the lead the on high fidelity cases with senior residents present for guidance and support during the case followed by a debrief session.

Mock Oral Board Simulation
Held quarterly on the 5th Wednesday of the month. Allows residents to practice cases one-on-one with an attending in a format similar to that used by the certifying boards in Emergency Medicine
